1. Have a special place to store automatic watches
To store an automatic watch, you can choose a regular watch box that fits the number of watches you own. You can also purchase a watch winder, which is a special box for automatic watches with a rotating interior, to keep your automatic watch moving even when stored. Watch winders are relatively more expensive than regular watch boxes, so you can choose one that fits your budget.

2. Wind your automatic watch regularly
Automatic watches have two mechanisms that keep them running. The first mechanism is by wearing it and going about your daily activities. The motion of your hand while wearing it will wind your automatic watch.
The second way is by manual winding. This is done by turning the crown of the watch upwards 30 times when it is not being worn. This way, its power can last up to 40 hours even when not in use.
3. Have your automatic watch checked and calibrated by a watch expert

You can take your automatic watch to a watch expert for a check-up once a year. Or, if you feel that the watch is starting to be inaccurate in telling time. The watch expert will check and calibrate it to make it accurate again. Just visit your nearest Watch Studio store. Click here to find your nearest store.
4. Do not use an automatic watch for heavy physical activity

Automatic watches have a fairly complex mechanism, so they must be used carefully. Avoid using an automatic watch during strenuous activities, such as exercising. Too much shock to an automatic watch can also reduce its performance.
5. Clean your automatic watch with a soft cloth
Keep a microfiber cloth or a cloth typically used to clean eyeglasses in your watch box. Then, clean your automatic watch after use and before storing it in the box.
